Alan Dershowitz, the former attorney for Jeffrey Epstein, claims that the real reason key information about Epstein remains hidden isn’t due to the Trump administration — but because two judges in New York are blocking its release.
Speaking with Chris Cuomo on NewsNation, Dershowitz addressed the growing belief that the Trump-era Department of Justice suppressed Epstein-related evidence. He firmly denied this, saying, “Pam Bondi and the Justice Department and Donald Trump are not responsible for that.”
According to Dershowitz, there is no “client list” — a term he says has been sensationalized online. Instead, what exists are redacted FBI affidavits containing accusations from Epstein’s victims. “The names of those accused have been blacked out,” he said, adding that while he personally knows who they are, court orders prevent him from disclosing them.
Dershowitz clarified that none of the unnamed individuals currently hold public office, though some once did and others have since passed away. He emphasized that the secrecy stems from judicial protection of alleged victims — not political influence.
“These suppression orders come from two Manhattan judges,” he said. “They’re doing it largely to protect the accusers, who the court views as victims. But again — not because of Trump.”
