President Joe Biden has delivered one of his sharpest critiques yet of Donald Trump, responding to a new national poll that shows Americans overwhelmingly prefer former President Barack Obama to Trump.
The Marquette University survey, conducted from September 5 to 24 among 1,005 adults, revealed that 42% of Americans view Trump favorably, while 57% hold an unfavorable opinion, leaving him with a net rating of -15 points.
In contrast, 57% view Obama favorably and 40% unfavorably, a +17-point advantage for the 44th president.
Biden addressed the results while speaking at a Nebraska Democratic Party gala in Omaha, using the moment to deliver a fiery rebuke.
“I knew Trump was going to take a wrecking ball to the country,” Biden said. “But I didn’t know there would be an actual wrecking ball. It’s the perfect symbol of his presidency.”
He went on, “Trump has taken a wrecking ball not only to the people’s house but to the Constitution, the rule of law, and our democracy itself.”
The president also took aim at Trump’s frequent claims that America is in a “golden age.”
“The only gold is the stuff he’s hanging on the mantle,” Biden quipped. “You work for us, Mr. President — not just for billionaires and millionaires.”

According to relatives, Renee had spoken calmly, almost protectively, telling her children exactly how she wanted them to live if anything ever happened to her — how to take care of one another, who to listen to, and what not to carry with them. One line, shared by the family, immediately spread across social media, stopping people mid-scroll and leaving thousands in tears. It wasn’t fear she passed on — it was strength, guidance, and love delivered before tragedy ever struck. As the words circulated online, strangers began sharing them as if they were their own, turning a private mother’s final message into a collective moment of mourning that now refuses to fade quietly….
