The Sweet Surprise — A Visit from Tiny Neighbors

Later that day, I sent the pictures to a close friend who had grown up near wetlands. She took one look and laughed.
“Those are tree frog prints,” she said.

Everything suddenly clicked. The trees nearby, the cool night air, the faint dew on the glass—it was the perfect setup for tiny frogs exploring under the stars. The delicate markings were made by their suction-cup feet as they hopped across the windshield, leaving behind perfect little imprints.

A gentle wipe with warm water made the marks vanish, but the smile stayed. What began as a small morning mystery turned into a sweet reminder of the quiet beauty that surrounds us—even in the middle of ordinary life.

Tree frogs often wander into neighborhoods, helping keep insects in check and adding a touch of wildness to suburban nights. Their visit was a reminder that nature is always closer than we think.

So now, whenever I spot something odd or unexpected, I pause before brushing it away. Sometimes, it’s not a nuisance at all—just nature’s gentle way of saying hello.
