The Camera That Saw Everything

They smiled warmly, acting concerned. “Don’t bother poor Eleanor,” Tom said. “She probably didn’t see much. Her eyesight isn’t what it used to be.”

I smiled too. “That’s true,” I said gently. “But my new bird-watching camera sees perfectly at night. The sparrows are quite active then. Would you like to see the footage?”

The room fell silent. The truth, clear as daylight, perched right there between us.

That day taught me something lasting: truth doesn’t always shout — sometimes it waits to be noticed. Now I still sit by the window each morning, tea in hand, watching sparrows flutter and sing.
