He Gave My Grandson a Teddy Bear — But Something Felt Off

When my son-in-law, Tom, handed my grandson Ethan a teddy bear during one of his court-mandated visits, I thought it was just another attempt to buy affection. Since my daughter Emily passed away, I’ve had custody of her two children. Tom’s visits were supervised by court order, and I’d learned not to trust his gestures — they always felt forced and hollow.

The next morning, Ethan tripped while playing outside, and the teddy bear’s seam split open. Inside, I saw something small and white — an Apple AirTag. A tracking device. My hands shook as I examined the rough stitching, realizing it had been hidden there deliberately.

My heart dropped. Tom wasn’t just sending gifts. He was spying on us.
