When we think of Dick Van Dyke, it’s almost as if time itself pauses.
Images flood back — him dancing with Mary Poppins, cracking jokes on The Dick Van Dyke Show, or lighting up screens with that signature grin that never seemed to fade.
Now, at nearly one hundred years old, Van Dyke remains every bit the entertainer he was decades ago — just with a softer rhythm and deeper grace.
But that doesn’t mean he’s slowed down. Far from it. Recently, he found himself in the spotlight again, this time in a way that caught everyone by surprise — appearing in Coldplay’s newest music video, filmed right from his home in Malibu.
The video captures Van Dyke as he reflects on his extraordinary life and the passage of time. At one point, he shares a line that feels as poetic as it is profound:
“I’m acutely aware that I could go any day now. But I don’t know why it doesn’t concern me. I’m not afraid of it.”
It’s a glimpse of a man who has lived with laughter, love, and light — and who continues to embrace life with the same warmth that first won the world over.
