If you find an abandoned stroller at the roadside, here’s why you might want to wait before getting out of your vehicle

The world can be unpredictable — and sometimes, dangerously deceptive.
Imagine driving home late at night, the road empty and quiet, when you suddenly see something that makes your heart stop — a baby stroller sitting alone by the roadside.

Your instincts take over. You slow down, squinting into the dark. Is there a baby inside? For many people, that question is enough to make them pull over without thinking twice.

But experts and online safety advocates are warning that this could be exactly what criminals are counting on.

This tactic — often called the “abandoned baby” or “stroller trap” — has gone viral after a mother’s Facebook post spread across social media. Her message was simple but chilling: don’t get out of your car.

According to reports, attackers may use an empty stroller or car seat to lure good-hearted people from their vehicles, then strike when the person stops to help.
One commenter wrote, “Yes, people lie in wait. At best they rob you — at worst, they hurt you.”

Another added, “I’d call the police to check. It sounds harsh, but it’s not worth the risk.”
