The Only One Left

Thirteen years ago, I became a father and a widower on the same day. My daughter, Sophia, came into this world as her mother left it — and from that moment on, she became my everything. I wasn’t prepared to raise a child alone, but I did my best to fill both roles — strict but loving, firm but gentle. Every decision I made was for her. I never dated again, never looked elsewhere. My whole life revolved around making sure she felt safe, loved, and never lacking.

As the years passed, Sophia grew into a kind and thoughtful young girl, full of light and laughter. She was my pride — the reason I kept going even on the hardest days.
