The 3-year-old daughter of ten time WPRA world champion has passed away in a freak accident after one of the rodeo champion’s horses fell on both her and her daughter on Thursday.
Tragedy struck when 10-time Women’s Professional Rodeo Association World Champion Kelsie Domer’s horses fell on top of her and her 3-year-old daughter, Oakley Rae Domer as the girl rode with her mom. While the girl’s mom was able to recover, the toddler girl did not.
While neither Kelsie Domer nor her husband, Ryan Domer publicly commented on the tragedy, including what led up to the horse falling on mother and daughter, mention of the accident was made according to a Facebook post shared by Rodeo Life, leading to prayers and tributes to the fallen girl and her family.

Stated the post in part, ‘Ryan and Kelsie Domer are living that nightmare. The couple lost their 3-year-old daughter Thursday in a freak wreck involving one of their horses, when the animal fell onto Kelsie and Oaklynn. Though live-saving efforts were made, the child did not survive. It’s devastating.’
The 3-year-old was well known in the rodeo community as she often accompanied her parents in competitions. Oakley Rae also frequently appeared on her parent’s social media posts.

Tributes pour in for rodeo child mainstay
Kelsie Chance Domer grew up on her family’s Cherokee, Oklahoma ranch house where she went on to compete in junior and high school rodeos. A breakaway roping standout, Kelsie earned titles including breakaway roping in 2017-2019 and 2024, all-around in 2020-2021, and tie-down roping in 2018.
Her husband, Ryan, qualified for the College National Finals Rodeo.
In the aftermath of the tragedy, family, friends and supporters of the married couple paid tribute to the passing of their daughter. One netizen stated that ‘accidents do happen and nothing can be done.’
