Honor Walk and Legacy of Kimber Mills
Tragically, Kimber was taken off life support on Tuesday. In accordance with her wishes, her family arranged for her to become an organ donor. Ashley Mills revealed, “We’ve already got it set up for her to be an organ donor because that’s what she wanted.” Kimber’s heart was given to a seven-year-old boy in Ohio, and her lungs to a woman in New York.

Footage of Kimber’s “last walk” shows students, staff, and members of the local community lining the hospital hallways to pay their final respects. Silas McCay, 21, another victim, walked behind Kimber as she was wheeled toward surgery. Despite being shot ten times, he miraculously survived.
The emotional moment highlighted the love and admiration Kimber’s community had for her. As Ashley said, “As soon as she turned that corner, the whole hallway was crying. You can tell she was really loved by the whole community.” Kimber Mills’ selfless act in choosing organ donation turned her tragedy into a gift, leaving a lasting impact on multiple lives.
