From Shock to Strength: The 22-Year-Old Who Became a Mother of Triplets.

At 22, Bethany Harris thought she was in for a simple surprise—a baby. Instead, her seven-week pregnancy scan revealed three. “I just stared at the screen,” she recalls. “I hadn’t brought anyone with me. It was THREE!” Even her mother and friends needed several repeats before they believed it.
Bethany and her partner Craig had barely been together. They decided to separate, not out of anger but respect, agreeing to co-parent the triplets. When the doctor discussed reducing the pregnancy to lower risks, Bethany couldn’t choose one life over another. “Whatever happens, we’ll deal with it together,” she says.
Despite the odds, her pregnancy went relatively smoothly. At 26 weeks, a brief hospitalization occurred, but otherwise she stayed strong. On a December morning in 2021, doctors delivered the girls via C-section at 34 weeks and two days. Three tiny cries filled the room, marking the beginning of a life Bethany describes as “unreal — like meeting three little miracles.”
