Michael J. Fox Shares Heartbreaking Update Amid His Parkinson’s Battle

Michael J. Fox has spent more than three decades inspiring millions with his strength, humor, and honesty — even after being diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease at just 29.
Now 64, the Back to the Future legend continues to defy the odds. But in a recent interview, he opened up about how the disease has changed his life in ways even he struggles to accept.
“I wake up and get the message of what the day is gonna be like, and I try to adjust to it,” Fox shared.
“I keep getting new challenges physically, and I get through it. I roll around in a wheelchair a lot, and it took some getting used to.”
Despite the pain, his optimism hasn’t dimmed. Fox still radiates the same charm that made audiences fall in love with him decades ago — only now, it’s paired with the courage of someone who has stared down unimaginable challenges.
Over the years, he’s poured his heart into The Michael J. Fox Foundation, which has raised more than $2 billion for Parkinson’s research. He’s also written another memoir, Future Boy, and made a celebrated appearance in Apple TV’s Shrinking alongside Harrison Ford.
Earlier this year, his lifelong advocacy earned him the Presidential Medal of Freedom, honoring his tireless work to improve the lives of others.
