Tragedy at Carlton Farms — 6-Year-Old Girl Found Unresponsive During School Trip

It was meant to be a day of joy and learning for students from McGarity Elementary School in Hiram, Georgia. On October 8, 2025, the children visited Carlton Farms in Rockmart—a beloved local destination known for its open fields, animals, and family-friendly tours. But what began as a cheerful school outing ended in heartbreak when 6-year-old Victoria King was found unresponsive in a pool near the farm’s property.
Emergency responders were called immediately, and staff members attempted CPR before paramedics arrived. Victoria was rushed to a nearby hospital but was later pronounced dead. Local authorities confirmed that an investigation is underway to determine how the child gained access to the pool area and whether proper safety measures were in place.
In a statement shared with local media, representatives from Carlton Farms said the entire team was “devastated and heartbroken” by the tragedy, offering condolences to the family and support to first responders and school staff who witnessed the event.
