Remembering a Legacy of Compassion
The Wurms were deeply involved in humanitarian work through Ignite the Fire Ministry, a faith-based organization they helped lead. Alexander was remembered as a man of “warmth and unwavering kindness,” devoted to serving others across the globe. Serena, following in her father’s footsteps, was described as “a beacon of empathy and hope,” whose commitment to humanitarian efforts inspired all who knew her.
“Together, their final journey embodied selflessness and courage,” the ministry said, highlighting that their last mission reflected the love and compassion they had dedicated their lives to. Alexander and Serena are survived by wife and mother Candace Wurm, and Alexander’s other children, James (17) and Christiana (20). Their lives, rooted in service and generosity, leave a lasting impact on all who knew them.
