New York Attorney General Letitia James is facing growing scrutiny following reports that several of her relatives with criminal backgrounds are living in Virginia properties she owns. Documents obtained by the New York Post suggest that one of those family members is her grand-niece, 21-year-old Cayla Thompson-Hairston, who has faced multiple legal issues.
According to court filings, Thompson-Hairston was charged in April 2024 for allegedly providing false information about her criminal record while attempting to purchase a firearm in Suffolk, Virginia. The charge stemmed from claims that she lied on federal paperwork about a previous felony for malicious wounding — a serious violent offense under Virginia law involving intent to harm or disable another person.
Because Thompson-Hairston was a juvenile when first charged in 2020, those records remain sealed. Prosecutors later dismissed the firearm case after determining her earlier charge had been reduced to a misdemeanor through a plea deal — meaning she was no longer legally prohibited from owning a gun.
Thompson-Hairston has also drawn attention for her OnlyFans and social media presence, where she reportedly posts explicit content and shares personal updates, including her pregnancy. Her openness online contrasts with her sealed juvenile record, adding to the public’s curiosity surrounding the family’s ongoing legal challenges.
