The Night My Cat Brought Home a Surprise

It was an ordinary evening — the kind where quiet fills every corner of the house. I was folding laundry when my daughter, Lili, suddenly yelled from the living room, “Mom! She has something in her mouth again!”

Startled, I hurried over and froze at the sight before me. There was Marsa, our gentle tabby cat, trotting carefully across the yard with something tiny and squirming between her teeth. When she reached her favorite basket by the window, she set it down tenderly — a tiny black puppy. Inside the basket were already four others, sleeping close together.

Marsa climbed in beside them, curling her striped body protectively around the group. She began to purr — low, steady, and full of warmth. I stood there speechless. A cat caring for puppies? The scene felt both impossible and deeply touching.

By morning, the mystery had only grown. Marsa had slipped out again and returned with yet another puppy. I couldn’t imagine where she was finding them — they were clean, healthy, and clearly loved. My heart was torn between awe and concern. Someone out there had to be missing these babies.
